Your Wedding At Unity of Augusta
Our prayer for you is that your wedding at Unity of Augusta will be
beautiful and deeply meaningful for you and your loved ones as
your union is blessed in the service that celebrates your spiritual
commitment to one another.
When you have decided to plan your wedding ceremony at Unity of Augusta,
you will want to phone the office to reserve that date
and time (if you have not already done so). Remember, most couples
reserve the Church far in advance, so please make these
arrangements as early as possible to be sure the day you choose is
available. Your payment will secure your date.
You will need to schedule 2 appointments with the minister to make
arrangements for your ceremony. The Minister, upon request,
also performs weddings outside the Church.  See
CSRAWeddings.com
for more information.

REHEARSAL
The rehearsal is usually held the night before the wedding, no later
than 7:30 p.m. It is suggested that all persons involved in the
wedding party, including parents of both the bride and groom, be
present for the rehearsal. It is not necessary for the accompanist to
be present.

WHAT ABOUT USHERS OR HOSTESSES?
You may want to appoint friends or family members as ushers or
hostesses and perhaps appoint someone to attend a wedding guest
book for signing in the lobby. Please ask your ushers to see that
guests do not bring food, beverages, rice or birdseed into the
Sanctuary, and let them know that guests are asked not to smoke
anywhere in the Church building. It is helpful to ask a friend or family
member to be responsible for checking after the ceremony for
belongings of the wedding party and to see that all is left in order.
We love our Church home and we thank you and your guests for
helping us care for this holy place.

SHALL WE GET A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?
A marriage license is required before the wedding can be performed.  There
is no waiting period in Georgia, and you will be given your license when you
apply at the Courthouse.  South Carolina has a 24 hour waiting period.  For
more information on license requirements and same day weddings go to
http:

CAN WE HOLD YOUR RECEPTION AT UNITY OF AUGUSTA?
Yes. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the property. Since we do not
employ a full-time custodian, we do not have the staff available to
prepare the Youth Education Building for you. You will need to make
the arrangements to have the room decorated and set-up for the
reception. We provide 3 standard size banquet tables, several
folding tables, chairs, and a bathroom. Following the end of the
reception the room has to be cleaned, clear of all decorations and
returned to it’s former condition in preparation for other church
activities.

WHAT ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEOS DURING THE WEDDING?
Feel free to have your professional photographer, or guests take
photographs and/or film a video during the service if you so desire.
This is your day!

CAN GUESTS THROW BIRD SEED AFTER THE CEREMONY ?
Yes, as long as the seed is thrown outside the church.

WHAT ABOUT FLOWERS & DECOR?
All decorations for the church are selected by you.  Flowers need to be
delivered no later than 2-3 hours before the wedding ceremony and need to
be removed after the wedding is over or by the next morning.

WHAT ABOUT DRESSING ROOMS?
If you and the wedding party need to dress here before the
ceremony, please make these arrangements with the Minister so
that the Manse can be opened to welcome you when you plan to
arrive before the wedding. Normally the church is opened 1 hour
before a wedding. In the manse there are three rooms available for
dressing. The downstairs room is very large and adjacent to the
bathroom, and is usually preferred by the bridal party for it’s privacy.
Upstairs are two moderate size rooms that are quite comfortable. It
would be helpful to appoint someone to check these rooms for items
left behind after the wedding.

DESIGNING YOUR OWN SERVICE
On the first meeting with the minister you will receive a packet to help
you design your wedding. The packet contains from the very
traditional to contemporary service. Family weddings are a wonderful
option for those who want their children involved.

WHAT WILL OUR WEDDING COST ?
Fees are based on how long and how much of the building will be in use. The
Minister’s fee is $200.00. Go to
csraweddings.com/Packages.html for
package information.

MUSIC
It is up to you to contact the musician and confirm the music for the
ceremony.

MISCELLANEOUS
No alcoholic beverages are to be served on the church premises
(that includes the parking lot and church grounds), at any time. No
nails, tacks, or screws can be put in the walls or furniture.
